- Summer QRP Contest on VHF (OK) and OM VHF Low Power Contest 2015
Vďaka skorému rannému príchodu a optimálnemu počasiu (bezvetrie pod
mrakmi a chvíľami len mierny teplý dážď), som tu sám stihol štandardne postaviť
2 hodiny.
Závod som tak štartoval načas a nové spojenia (QSO) postupne
pribúdali. No pásmo začalo byť dosť obsadené a pre mňa aj zarušené silnými stanicami
(QRM), pracujúcimi v tomto čase v AA /= Alpe-Adria/ VHF Contest (zrejme stanice
v sekcii A a B AA kontestu, t.j. s veľkými
výkonmi podľa povoľovacích limitov).
Asi aj kvôli môjmu nízkemu výstupnému výkonu (QRP 10w) a prevážnemu
smerovaniu staníc v rámci AA kontestu inými smermi než ku mne, ma v pile-upoch viaceré
stanice so silným signálmi nepočuli a ani po opakovanom volaní nezobrali.
46 QSOs, 17 WWLs, 8544 bodov, ODX 9A0V; JN95PE; 375km .
On the 2nd August 2015, in this
year, I attended of the meadows above the Lamac in Bratislava to the referred Czech
and Slovak ham radio international contests – which run in parallel at the same
time on VHF in the 144 MHz band.
It is a well-known
place for me (locator JN88ME and ca 275m ASL), nicely opened to southern
directions (SE-S-SW) see also:
(more precisely,
Lamač, 17.058713 48.189336).
I am used to come here to take part in the monthly
regular Slovak VHF Activity Contests – VKV PA.
Thanks to the early
arrival and the optimum weather conditions (no wind beneath the clouds and from
time to time just a slight warm rain), I alone managed to build an 8m mast and
antenna 7el. yagi and prepare the workplace in the car – it took for about 2
hours.
So I started
contesting in time, and the new contacts (QSOs) were gradually logged. However,
the band began to be quite busy and for me with interferences caused by strong
stations (QRM) as well, i.e. stations working in this time in AA /=Alpe-Adria/ VHF
Contest (probably section A and B stations, i.e. with big power according to the
license limits).
Probably also because of my low output power (QRP
10w) and largely beaming of the stations within the AA directions than to me, I
was not heard in the contest pile-ups by multiple stations with strong signals
and I was ignored even after repeated calls.
It was also interesting that for a station of
the northern directions I supposedly had weak signal this time – probably due
to the trees with large leaves, which are meanwhile grown here and shadowed to those
directions.
So, therefore, I have got it repeated that
with the QRP one must go high enough to be able to make longer QSOs and to be heard also in the QRM conditions and got to the
place with the most open directions.
Otherwise, an external accumulator for the TRX
and a vehicle accu for notebook and for final
starting of the car engine endured.
Well and people walking with their dogs, whom
I surprised when I was talking /= shouting/ to myself in the open car, there weren't
many…
Overall result achieved in 6 hours was within
the average for me:
